Abstract
Globalization era needs to be answered
by growing local economy if a country wants to have an ability to compete and
to adapt. Growing local economy based on blue economic paradigm is believed to
be able to strengthen people economy productively and sustainably. The aim of
this research is describing and analyzing economic growth in Kalanganyar
village, and building economic growth model in Kalanganyar village Sidoarjo
regency in sustainable way. The method applied is descriptive qualitative
research method. The result of this research is that economic growth of
Kalanganyar villagers comes from seafish capture (fisherman), “bandeng”
(milkfish) ponds, and fishing ponds. These three economic sources are able to
absorb work power of Kalanganyar villagers and society surroundings through the
descendant product fields. The weaknesses of this village are unwell arranged
economic management, dirty and bad smelling (tang) environment condition, bad
access road infrastructure, and indefinitive space set direction as fish and
fishing tourist resort region. Government needs to act policy and capital
intervention in trying to develop small and medium enterprises (UMKM) in prior
product field, by involving stakeholders. That Intervention is directed to
increase capacity and empowerment of villagers in getting opportunity of local
economic development, to strengthen institution and social capital of
villagers.
