Abstract
Participation in
economic activities to gain self achievement can be actualized by being a
businessmen/businesswoman who can create job opportunities and contribute to
the state’s foreign exchange. An economist who can give solutions to the
problem of economic crisis, or becoming a citizen who likes to work hand and
does not depend on the mercy of others.
The key word for
the survival in this era is nothing but competition ; how Indonesia, including
its autonomous regions, can develop national competitiveness so as to ensure
that it can gain and enjoy the benefits of globalization, and not to loose in
the competetion.
Abstract

The
globalization era can be seen from the fact that no more territorial
international boundaries in order to the flow of information and culture among
nations cannot be hindered anymore in the world. Countries become widely open
to various kinds of information and technology that is delivered by means of
various communication media, such as the interet, electronic media, and mass
media. Globalization is the effect of scientific and technological development
in communication and transportation that may effect different aspects of
national life. Globalization produce various effects on different sectors of
life, whether the effects are positive or negative. Therefore, we should be
able to select the effects of globalization. The positive effects should be
taken, whereas the negative effects should be avoided.
Globalization is
a process in which all countries and people in world are united in a world
village inhabited by various nations. And than a process in which georaphical
boundaries among nations and countries disappear, since interstate borders
cannot restrain the flow of information, goods and services from other
countries, a country can not close itself from foreign influences.
